Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has condemned what it called incessant attacks on airlines’ staff and facilities across the country over flights delays and cancellations.

The operators noted with serious concern the violent attacks on staff and facilities at the various airports across the country and called for immediate cessation.

In a statement signed by the president of the association, Alhaji Yunusa Abdulmunaf, chairman Azman Air and vice chairman, Barr. Allen Onyema, chairman Air Peace, said though the operators feel the pains and frustrations caused by flights delay and cancellations, but passengers should realise that operators do not deliberately go for delay or cancellations of flights.

It noted that anytime cancellation happens, the operators suffer huge losses, and come with negative effect on the nation’s economy.

The association pleaded with passengers to stop the attacks on staff and facilities of airlines, noting they are not always the cause of delays or cancellations of flights.

It added that attacks are not civilised way of expressing anger.
