The Head of the National Office, West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Nigeria, and Registrar Designate, WAEC International, Dr Amos Josiah Dangut, has been unanimously elected as the West Africa Representative on the Executive Committee of the Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA).
The election took place during the 42nd Annual Conference of the AEAA, held from 17–21 August 2026 at the Gran Meliá Hotel, Arusha, Tanzania.
The confab bbrought together leading professionals, institutions and stakeholders in educational assessment from across Africa and beyond.
Dr Dangut’s unanimous election is a significant recognition of his distinguished contributions to educational assessment and his nearly three decades of professional experience in the assessment industry.

The Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA) is an international professional association comprising educational assessment professionals and institutions from African countries and beyond.

Through its activities, the Association helps strengthen assessment systems and enhance the quality and credibility of educational measurement across Africa.
