● Tells Govt to sanction union leaders for crossing red lines

A public affairs analyst, Onovughe Igwe has issued a stern warning to the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) over its failure to stick to its policy thrust as a trade union and for consistently threatening a nationwide strike against Dangote Petroleum Refinery and other industry stakeholders.

He also noted that it was necessary for the government to act fast and clamp down on any trade unions that had “crossed all the red lines…”

Igwe in his widely circulated views on the social media fiercely condemned the union’s action for directing its Petroleum Tanker Drivers Branch to halt fuel loading nationwide on Monday September 8 with the intent to destabilize the country’s socio-economic activities for selfish gains.

He added that Dangote’s 10,000 CNG powered trucks would only improve operational efficiency in the country’s petroleum industry, while also affirming that Dangote’s intervention was in good faith and in the best interest of ordinary Nigerians.

Igwe also exposed NUPENG’s connivance with agents of economic saboteurs who never wished Nigeria well.

While also maintaining his firm patriotic stand as a concerned citizen, he inferred that the union was embarking on cheap propaganda and blackmail to drive its insidious and unconstitutional demands. In his view NUPENG’s claims against Dangote were unfounded and dangerous, describing them as a veiled attempt to hold Nigeria hostage.

He wrote: “The recent Shutdown of Dangote refinery by NUPENG, exposed the cabals that Dangote has long been claiming want every refinery in Nigeria to die so that they keep enjoying the unending benefits they enjoy from subsidy.

Charlie Kirk: Robinson not cooperating with authorities, says Utah gov

“Before the removal of the subsidy and the completion of the Dangote refinery…. NUPENG members were in charge of smuggling subsidized fuel to the Niger Republic, Cameroon, Chad, Benin, Togo among other African countries…they can’t deny this.. since they claimed every petrol tanker driver is their member.

“They buy this petrol for N165 in Nigeria and sell it at over N1000 across the border…
NUPENG didn’t use trucks to block the border to stop this massive economic sabotage because their members were making huge multi-billion-dollar profits from this illegal business…

“What is the benefit of NUPENG to Nigeria if their members can buy petrol in Nigeria at a subsidized rate and sell it at over 5 times across the Nigerian border?

“The removal of fuel subsidy by the Tinubu government was bad news to NUPENG and PENGASSAN….

“With connivance from NNPCL management, they did everything to frustrate the subsidy removal, with the endless renovation of Nigeria’s four refineries…

“NUPENG and PENGASSAN didn’t go on strike to protest against their members in the four Nigerian dead refineries collecting salary for over 30 years without producing a single litre of petrol…

“These two unions were responsible for the death of Nigeria’s 4 refineries…The coming of Dangote refinery was bad news for NUPENG and PENGASSAN…They prefer to buy Petrol from, petrol importers even when Dangote refinery has enough petrol to go round Nigeria…

“Dangote refinery decided to buy its own trucks to sell its products rejected by NUPENG…. The same NUPENG is doing everything to stop Dangote…

“For too long, NUPENG has, by its action, bled this country financially…

“Nigeria can’t keep managing a leg that has been completely eaten up by cancer…

“The Nigerian government should drag these unions to the industrial court….If they refuse to obey the court ruling.

“NUPENG should be declared as a terrorist organisation and its activities across Nigeria should be banned..

“No union should be perpetually allowed to hold all Nigerians to ransom to feed their infinite appetites…

“If NLC and TUC decide to resist it… They too should be declared terrorist organisations with their leaders declared terrorist leaders and sent to jail. For too long these unions have been a perpetual clog in the wheel of Nigeria’s progress … And it’s time to end their shenanigans….

“If Nigeria bleeds as a result of these actions let it bleed… These union leaders don’t have 9 lives…
“If Nigeria bleeds, these unionists have more to lose because they have amassed enough wealth from the dues the ever-suffering workers across Nigeria paid to them…

“Enough is Enough… It’s time the government acts against these unions that have crossed all the red lines…”
