COVID-19 Updates: NCDC reports 394 new cases, five deaths

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Wednesday night, reported 394 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.

The figure has taken the countrywide infections, thus far, to 159,646.

According to the NCDC’s data, a total of 927 patients recovered and were discharged from various isolation centres in the country, while 5 persons died of COVID-19 complications.

Giving a breakdown of the fresh infections, the NCDC said Bauchi State recorded the highest figure of the day with-75, Lagos-36,Akwa Ibom-33, FCT-32, Nasarawa-29, Kaduna-26, Rivers-25, Ogun-22, Oyo-21, Edo-20, Taraba-18, Imo-17, Ondo-17, Borno-8, Plateau-7, Zamfara-4, Osun-3 and Kano-1.

As of the 10th of March 2021, a total of 1,993 persons had lost their lives to the virus in Nigeria, while 139,983 patients had recovered.

The agency said Wednesday’s report included data from Taraba State recorded over the last two days.
