COVID-19 Updates: NCDC reports 346 new cases; country total now 159,252 with 1,988 deaths

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, 9n Tuesday night, reported 346 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.

The figure has taken the countrywide infsction thus far to 159, 252.

According to the NCDC’s data, a total of 554 patients recovered and were discharged from various isolation centres in the country, while 6 persons died of COVID-19 complications.

“Our discharges today (Tuesday) include 170 community recoveries in Lagos State and 83 in Kwara State managed in line with guidelines.”

Giving a breakdown of the fresh infections, the NCDC said Lagos State recorded the highest figure of the day with 86 infections, followed by Bauchi State which reported 64 cases.

Others are; Kaduna (26), Kwara (26), FCT (24), Rivers (23), Plateau (22), Ogun (16), Ebonyi (14), Bayelsa (12), Cross River (10), Edo (8), Akwa Ibom (5), Ekiti (3), Gombe (2), Kano (2), Osun (2) and Delta (1).

As of the 9th of March 2021, a total of 1,988 persons had lost their lives to the virus in Nigeria, while 139,056 patients had recovered.
