Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Friday night, announced 213 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 58,062 cases.
The agency also confirmed one new death in the country in the last 24 hours, as the total fatality figure increased from 1,102 on Thursday night to 1,103 on Friday night.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the new cases with-51, Plateau-51, FCT-29, Rivers-18, Ondo-12, Oyo-9, Osun-8, Gombe-7, Ogun-7, Kaduna-5, Enugu-4, Edo-3, Jigawa-3, Kano-3, Benue-1, Delta-1 and Sokoto-1.
The data from the health agency disclosed that 508 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, 7,353 were still active cases while a total of 49,606 patients had been successfully managed and discharged.
The agency further stated that Friday night cumulative discharged cases included 364 recovered patients in Katsina State who were managed in the community.
