Again, suspected members of the Boko Haram terrorists group have attacked the convoy of Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum
The Governor’s convey was attacked near Monguno town on Friday while he was his way to Baga, where Governor Babagana Zulum was expected to receive returning IDPs.
The Governor was said to have flown in an Airforce chopper to Baga earlier, where he performed the Friday prayers with troops.
As of the time of this report, the casualty figure had yet to be known but sources said some security men were killed during the attack.
An Armoured Personnel Carrier belonging to the police as well as state government vehicles were also reportedly hijacked in the attack.
The governor was expected to receive about three thousand civilians who would be transported from IDP camps both in Maiduguri and Monguno on Saturday.
The attack on Friday was the second of its kind, stirring great concerns.
