COVID-19 Updates: NCDC confirms 201 new cases, 7,378 active cases, discharges 421 patients

Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Wednesday night, announced 201 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 58,848 cases.

The agency also reported one new death in the country within the last 24 hours, as the total fatality figure increased from 1,111 Tuesday night to 1,112 on Wednesday night.

The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the new cases with-77, Rivers-37, Plateau-25, FCT-13, Kaduna-12, Ogun-12, Adamawa-8, Taraba-7, Imo-4, Kwara-2, Osun-2, Abia-1, Oyo-1.

The data from the agency disclosed that 421 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, 7,378 were still active cases while a total of 50,358 patients had been successfully managed and discharged.

NCDC explained that the discharges reported on Wednesday night included 257 community recoveries in Imo State and 85 homecare discharges in Delta State managed in line with guidelines.
