COVID-19 Updates: NCDC confirms 147 new cases, four new deaths

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Wednesday night, announced 147 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.

The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the new cases with-82, FCT-20, Rivers-9, Kaduna-8, Plateau-8, Benue-5, Edo-3, Kano-3, Nasarawa-3, Taraba-3, Ogun-2 and Bauchi-1.

The agency said four new death occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the total fatality figure increased from 1,135 on Tuesday to 1,139 on Wednesday.

The data from the agency disclosed that 179 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, while 3,137 cases were still active in the country.

The agency explained that discharges on Wednesday included 116 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with new case management guidelines.

Total confirmed cases in Nigeria- 62,371.
Total discharged cases- 58,095.
Total deaths- 1,139.
