The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Tuesday night, announced 1,056 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 141,447 cases.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos State had the highest daily record of the fresh cases with-214, Osun-120, FCT-116, Plateau-88, Ebonyi-75, Kwara-73, Gombe-70, Ondo-57, Rivers-47, Akwa Ibom-38, Edo-25, Oyo-23, Kano-22, Delta-19, Katsina-18, Borno-16, Nasarawa-13, Ekiti-8, Ogun-8, Bauchi-4, Benue-1 and Jigawa-1.
The data from the agency disclosed that 21 deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,673 on Monday to 1,694 on Tuesday.
The agency said 1,120 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 115,755 while 23,998 cases were still active in the country.
The agency explained that discharges on Tuesday included 478 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
