The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday said they have scaled up testing capacity in the country from 6 to 13 laboratories
“Seventeen days ago, we set a target to scale up #COVID-19 testing capacity from 6 to 13 labs in 3 weeks
Today, we announced the inclusion of the 12th & 13th labs, with plans for further expansion” the centre said in post on a their social media
It added that the lab strategy set to be published has more details on how they are scaling up testing
“Two new labs have been activated for#COVID-19 testing at DNA Lab, a private sector lab in Kaduna and University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Borno” the centre added
NCDC further stated that the new laboratories bring the number of COVID-19 testing labs in Nigeria to 13. It said Sokoto and Port Harcourt are currently in progress.
