A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday affirmed Victor Oye as the authentic national chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) party.
The Court kicked out Edozie Njoku, who had been laying claim to the office of the national chairman of the political party.
The court held that the Victor Oye-led executive committee was the one recognised by law.
The trial Judge, Justice James Omotosho, in a judgment he delivered on Tuesday on the party’s leadership tussle held that, it was the list of candidates of the party by the Oye-led executive that should be recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Justice Omotosho held that by the judgments of the Federal High Court, Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court, it was clear that Victor Oye was the legitimate national chairman of APGA.
According to the judge, the plaintiffs had no legal right to institute the action as they did not participate in the election.
He said, “The reliefs sought by the plaintiffs are not grantable in the face of the overwhelming evidence placed before the court.”
