Consulate General of Nigeria in New York stops walk-ins for passport biometrics with immediate effect

The Consulate General of Nigeria, New York, United States of America (USA) has suspended from Wednesday, June 1, 2022 all walk-ins for passport biometrics until further notice.

A statement by the Consulate General said that this meant that any “applicants who come to the Consulate General for passport biometrics without appointments would not be attended to.”

According to the statement:, “This is as a result of the recent system upgrade by the Nigeria Immigration Service.”

It said all applicants were therefore, encouraged to book for biometric appointments on the Nigeria Immigration Service website (https://appointments.immigration.gov.ng/) and come to the Consulate on the scheduled dates.
