Family sources said he died in his sleep on Sunday November 1, 2020 .

His last official outing was when the Minister of State for Budget, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba visited the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’ Edo Ukuakpolokpolo, Ewuare II at his Palace to brief him on his scheduled engagements with stakeholders in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests.

On that occasion, the late Obasogie who had the gift of the garb, was dressed  in sparkling white Benin native attires as he was wont to do. Indeed, in addition to his gift of the garb was his sartorial elegance.

He was a renowned dispute resolution officer,.

He had a distinctive record as the Chairman, Edo State Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission and the State Petroleum Monitoring  Committee.

The late Obasogie was also an international businessman, iconic figure and  quintessential  cultural diplomat.
