Yobe Governor Mai-Mala Buni on Sunday took the first jab of COVID-19 vaccine.
The Astrazenica vaccine was administered on the governor by his personal physician, Dr Mohammed Umar, assisted by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Mohammed Gana.
The Governor was vaccinated along with the Deputy Governor, Hon. Idi-Barde Gubana, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Baba Wali, Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Garba Iliya, Chief of Staff to the Governor Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf and personal aides to the governor.
According to a statement signed on Sunday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Mamman Mohammed, the Governor’s vaccination signified official launch of the exercise, although it had been on-going.
He urged the people of the state to go for the vaccination and observe the COVID-19 protocols.
