Former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has lamented that the eight-year administration of former president, Muhammadu Buhari, took the nation backward for fifty years.
Fayose, who spoke when he appeared on “Sunday Politics,” a political programme on Channels Television, called on President Bola Tinubu to disclose to Nigerians the state of things and do more to fulfill his campaign promises.
He said Tinubu should stop praising his predecessor because “Buhari is not a blessing to Nigeria.”
Fayose said, ”Stay out of President Buhari’s mess,” even as he advised him to focus on his campaign promises.
“My advice to the President is: stay focussed, remember that you gave your word to Nigerians to make this country better than you met it. Please stay focussed. Don’t be distracted,” Fayose said.
He added that President Bola Tinubu’s effort to solve Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges was commendable despite that he inherited a “dead economy.”
“President Tinubu inherited a dead economy and whatever we say, we must give him time.
“Considering what Bola Tinubu, the President of Nigeria inherited and our diversity, put all these together, the gentleman is trying.”
