President Muhammadu Buhari has acknowledged the Supreme Court’s ruling on the July 16, 2022 governorship election in Osun State.
He emphasized the important role of the judiciary in promoting the rule of law and democracy.
Following the court’s final decision, the President has reminded the political class and their supporters of their responsibility to ensure good governance, prosperity, peace, and stability in Osun State. He urges all citizens and residents of the State, including notable individuals, to support the government of Senator Ademola Adeleke in its efforts to implement policies and plans that will promote individual and business growth.
The President stressed that elections should be a means to achieve progress for the people in a peaceful environment, rather than a source of continuous conflict.
He emphasized the need for inclusion and harmony in Osun State after the litigation.
President Buhari expressed his gratitude to the people of Osun State for their contributions to the nation’s development through their rich cultural heritage and numerous historical sites and tourist attractions.
He said he trusted that the government would continue to develop the State’s vast resources to promote national development and prosperity, in addition to the efforts of the Central government.
