President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with former President Goodluck Jonathan on the demise of his two personal staff members, who died in a road crash.
A car in Jonathan’s convoy was involved in a road crash on Wednesday in Abuja.
The accident, which occurred on Wednesday evening, claimed the lives of two aides.
The former President said the accident occurred within the vicinity of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja while he was on his way out of the airport.
He disclosed that two policemen, Inspectors Ibrahim Abazi and Yakubu Toma, attached to him died in the accident.
According to him, two other officers sustained injuries in the road crash.
However, President Buhari in a statement on Friday by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, joined fellow countrymen in praying for the repose of the deceased.
He urged the families of the victims to see their demise as a sacrifice for the nation.
Buhari expressed gratitude to God for having former President Jonathan escape unhurt from the accident.
He, therefore, urged the former President not to be distracted from his frequent local and international travels which were linked to peace building at home and abroad.
