LAGOS – The king has been dethroned.
Social media comedian Carter Efe stunned a packed Balmoral Hall Friday night, battering street artiste Habeeb ‘Portable’ Badmus for three brutal rounds to snatch his crown by unanimous decision at Chaos in the Ring 4.
All three judges saw it the same: 27-30, all for Efe. With that, Portable’s reign as celebrity boxing’s loudest champion came crashing down.
The ZaZoo crooner had swaggered into the Federal Palace Hotel ring draped in bravado, chasing a third straight belt after knocking off Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington.
“I will use you to collect my third belt. Charles Okocha was bigger than you, Speed Darlington was bigger than you, and I beat them. I will beat you now,” Portable had taunted.
Efe barely blinked. “One punch and you fall,” he shot back.
Then he made good on it.
Round one opened with Portable charging like a storm — wild, looping shots, clinches, chaos. But the taller Efe stood his ground, slipping the haymakers and snapping back with clean uppercuts and body shots that folded Portable’s smaller frame.
Portable didn’t adjust. Round two, more of the same: swinging for the fences, grabbing when hurt. Efe stayed calm, sharper with each exchange, drilling him with combinations that echoed through the hall.
By the third, the story was written. Efe hunted, Portable held. The bell couldn’t come fast enough.
When the cards were read, the crowd roared. Carter Efe, skit maker turned slugger, was the new celebrity boxing king. Portable, for the first time, left without a belt — and without words.
Chaos in the Ring 4 delivered exactly that.
