The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), and the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance public trust in procurement processes.
This was contained in a statement issued by Zira Nagga, Head, Public Relations, BPP in Abuja on Friday.l, October 24, 2025.
Nagga said the partnership would foster a collaborative relationship between the two agencies, leveraging their expertise to ensure transparency and accountability in government procurement practices.
The statement quoted Dr Adebowale Adedokun, the Director-General, BPP to have said that the MoU was a step towards reducing wastages, misuse of public funds, and promoting efficient service delivery.
“The partnership is expected to enhance the capacity of BPP and CIFCFIN to detect and prevent fraudulent activities in public procurement.
“It is also to promote a culture of transparency and accountability in government agencies,” he said.
Dr Yerima Gashinbaki, the President, CIFCFIN commended BPP for its efforts in repositioning the procurement sector and promoting transparency and accountability.
Gashinbaki said that CIFCFIN would provide unwavering support to BPP in implementing the MoU and promoting integrity in public procurement practices.
“This partnership is a significant step towards promoting good governance and accountability in Nigeria’s public sector, and is expected to have a positive impact on the nation’s economy and development,” he said (NAN)
