Bishop ‘Sola Olubadejo of the Holy Ghost Power Assembly Worldwide, in Osogbo, Osun State, has urged Christians to give praise to God and lift Him high, as the only way to show they have not forgotten His mercies.
Bishop Olubadejo made this known at the 60th birthday and retirement thanksgiving ceremony in honour of Mrs Felicia Arinola Farombi.
At the colourful and well-attended event, held at the Headquarters of the Holy Ghost Power Assembly Worldwide, in Osogbo, Bishop Olubadejo said: “Depression has become a global epidemic and if one is not careful, the challenges of life, even in the holy order, can make a person forget that God is good.”
The Bishop, who observed that many successful people forget that all they have is through God’s grace, charged everyone to always remember the Rock from which man was healed and restored.
The General Overseer of the Church said: “the importance of giving thanks to God is not about the money spent on the occasion or pageantry, but a time to dance and sing before Him in worship and Thanksgiving”.
Bishop Olubadejo urged all to emulate the celebrator, Mrs Felicia Farombi and her entire family.
Chairman of the ceremony, Elder Monshood Oladejo (MAO) congratulated the celebrator and her family, urging her not to relent in doing good while she must continue to worship God in the remaining years of her life.
Elder Oladejo added that birthday celebration was important because, according to him “it enables us to think about where we are coming from and what next.”
Dignitaries that spoke at the event extolled the sterling virtues of the celebratory Mrs Farombi, whom they described as an epitome of Christ love, diligence, enviable humility and philanthropy.
The thanksgiving witnessed the attendance of people from all walks of life, which included Hon Dotun Babayemi, governorship aspirant, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Hon Aleem Bakare, Holy Ghost Power Assembly Worldwide families among other.
