Bayelsa Queens FC secured their sixth NWFL Premiership title with a commanding 4-1 victory over Naija Ratels at Pitch 4 of Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Saturday.

Vera Samuel’s sensational hat-trick powered the Prosperity Girls to victory.

They overwhelmeda Naija Ratels’ side that couldn’t capitalise on their chances.

Under coach Whyte Ogbonda’s leadership, Bayelsa dictated play, with Alaba Olabiyi leading the attack and midfielders Dooshima Tarnum and Aderemi Mary controlling the tempo.

Samuel struck first in the 29th minute, heading in a pinpoint cross from Mega Cynthia. Naija Ratels equalized in the 44th minute, making it 1-1 at halftime.

Bayelsa exploded in the second half, with Mega Cynthia scoring in the 46th minute. Despite Alaba Olabiyi missing a clear one-on-one, Samuel took charge, netting her second goal in the 60th minute and completing her hat-trick eight minutes later to seal the win.

Coach Whyte Ogbonda lauded the team’s discipline and unity, saying, “Our patience and teamwork delivered this championship.”

Thanking the Bayelsa State Government for their support, Ogbonda added, “We’re ready to strengthen the team for the CAF WAFU-B challenge.”
