In Coffers For December 2025
The Commissioner of Information, Orientation and Strategy, Mrs. Ebiowu Koku-Obiyai, has said that the Bayelsa State Government remains committed to transparency and accountability in the management of its resources.
Speaking at the monthly transparency briefing for October, November, and December, Koku-Obiyai highlighted the government’s achievements in various sectors, including infrastructure development, agriculture, blue economy, and tourism.
She noted that ongoing projects, such as the new stadium at Igbogene and the gas turbine project, are receiving necessary attention, and that the government is meeting its obligations to contractors.
The Commissioner also disclosed that the state has acquired two aircraft and is working towards establishing an aviation hub and expressed the government’s commitment to increasing the state’s economy and making it attractive to investors and tourists.

Koku-Obiyai thanked the media for their role in keeping the state informed and expressed hope that the relationship between the government and the media would continue to flourish.
Meanwhile, the Technical Adviser on Treasury and Accounts to Governor Douye Diri, Mr. Timipre Seipoulo, has disclosed that Bayelsa State’s coffers had a balance of N45.478 billion as of December 2025.
According to Seipoulo, the balance was arrived at after deducting a deficit balance of N27.95 billion from the carried forward balance of N70.54 billion for the month of November.
Breaking down the state’s finances for October, November, and December 2025, Seipoulo said the state had a total receipt of N64.23 billion in October, with a net balance of N9 billion after deducting N55.13 billion for capital and recurrent payments.
For November, the state had a total receipt of N48.84 billion, with a net deficit balance of N2.31 billion after deducting N51.15 billion for capital and recurrent payments.
The October balance of N115.58 million was carried forward to November, resulting in a balance of N70.54 billion, which was carried forward to December.
