No fewer than 25 women have been kidnapped by suspected bandits in Kurmi town, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The women were on their way to attend a wedding ceremony when they were intercepted and taken away by the attackers.
Elsewhere, 19 people were abducted in Galadi, a town in the Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, several others sustained injuries during the attack, which occurred at night.
Zamfara State has been witnessing a series of violent attacks in recent months, with rural areas usually targeted by armed groups.
