The incoming National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Iyorchia Ayu, has denied media reports that the incoming National Working Committee (NWC) of the party would probe past administrations of the party.
In a statement he personally signed, the incoming National Chairman maintained that he had not seen the books of the party or received any handover notes, and so could not make any authoritative comment on any allegations.
“The attention of the Media Office of the incoming National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, has been drawn to numerous headlines in today’s dailies.
“They report Dr Ayu as saying (to have said) the incoming National Working Committee (NWC) of the party will probe past administrations of the party.
“Ayu maintains what he said during the presentation of the communique to the media that:
“He has not seen the books of the party or received any handover notes, and so cannot make any authoritative comment on any allegations.
“Dr Ayu works with facts; not hearsay. And until we see the books, we can’t talk of probing anybody,” the statement read.
Ayu advised the public to ignore any reports alleging that the incoming National Working Committee (NWC) of the party would probe past administrations of the party.
