“Asiwaju is not disposed to the elaborate rally planned to receive him by his supporters because of the mood of the nation, that’s why he came in quietly, unannounced,” said a source close to him.

Recall, the former Lagos State Governor had undergone knee surgery at the John Hopkins University Hospital in Maryland, the United States.

The APC chieftain, it was learnt, left the US for the United Kingdom on crutches, a few days after the surgery.

At least over 30 politicians had visited the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, in London, the United Kingdom in the last two months.

President Muhammadu Buhari opened the floodgate of visits when he visited Tinubu on 13 August.

Tinubu, who celebrated his 69th birthday in March 2021 has a large following of political loyalists.

He is widely believed to have prepped himself for the 2023 presidential race.
