Fear and tension have gripped Owerri, the Imo state capital following reported invasion of the premises of Havana Cinema and Mimi’s Place by armed men working for the state government.

Witness’ account said that the invasion looked like a robbery operation and had over 50 armed men in company with some staff members of Imo Internal Revenue Service, IIRS who gained entry into the premises.

They reportedly shot sporadically scaring away customers and passersby and finally whisked away twenty staff members working at Mimi’s Place and Havana Cinema to an unknown destination.
