All Progressives Congress members in Imo State voted overwhelmingly for President Bola Tinubu during Saturday’s presidential primary, with party leaders saying he deserves a second term.
At Isiebu Umuduru ward in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, APC chieftain Senator Ifeanyi Araraume led the ward vote for Tinubu. Araraume said the President has performed creditably across key sectors of the economy and earned a second term.
“The re-election of the President is key to the success of the country and very important for the growth of the economy,” Araraume said. “That’s why I’m here to be counted for the President. We are here to vote for Mr. President and give him the grassroots support he deserves having done well. He is the best among the contenders across party lines.”
He added that a second term for any president must be earned. “For Tinubu, today is a special day. Our President has earned it,” he said.
Araraume pointed to what he described as transformation in education, infrastructure, tax reforms, and the economy under Tinubu’s administration. He prayed for the President’s continued success.
The senator said his priority was delivering his ward and senatorial district for Tinubu, which he said he had done. This came after some political opponents criticized him for not being at the collation centre.
