The Lagos State Women Wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated women in the party on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
The newly elected Lagos APC Women Leader, Iyabosola Eletu, and her assistant, Damilola Sonayon-James, gave the commendation in a joint statement on Monday.
They celebrated women’s achievements and their contributions to political participation and community development.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that International Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8, celebrates women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements worldwide.
Eletu praised APC women across Lagos for their resilience, dedication and commitment to the party’s progress and the development of the state.
“On this special occasion of International Women’s Day, we extend our warmest congratulations to all remarkable women within the APC Lagos family.
“Today, we celebrate your strength, resilience and unwavering dedication to the progress of our party and the development of Lagos State.
“You are the heartbeat of our party, the pillars of our collective vision and champions of our shared goals.
“Your sacrifices and tireless commitment have been instrumental to the growth and success of APC in Lagos.
“You inspire us all with your leadership, passion and ability to rise above challenges,” she said.
Eletu urged women to remain committed as the country approaches another election cycle.
“As the nation moves closer to another election year, women must stand tall, lead boldly and work tirelessly to drive the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Our party counts on you, and we believe wholeheartedly in your ability to deliver. Together, we will achieve great things,” she said.
She said the theme of the commemoration, ‘Give to Gain,’ reflected the principle that progress is built through sacrifice, service and collective effort.
Eletu stated: “When women give their time, wisdom, compassion and leadership, communities flourish, institutions grow stronger and society advances.
“Across Lagos, APC women have embodied this spirit through mobilisation, strengthening democratic processes and sustaining a vibrant, inclusive and forward-looking party.”
She encouraged women to remain united and purposeful while preparing for future opportunities.
“By giving our best in service to our party and communities, we will gain stronger institutions, greater representation and a brighter future for women and girls.
“You are the pride of our party and the backbone of our success. May God bless you abundantly and strengthen you to excel,” she said.
