* Says Giadom has no power to summon NEC meeting

Prince Hilliard Eta-led faction of National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said President Muhammad Buhari is not aware of the invitation for the National Executive Council (NEC) slated for Thursday, June 24, asking members of the party to disregard the meeting.

In a statement signed on Wednesday, June 24, by the acting national secretary of the APC, Architect Waziri Bulama, the party said the convener of the meeting had been suspended by the Rivers state chapter of the party.

Bulama said Giadom could not summon a meeting on that date because under the party’s constitution only the national secretary could do so pursuant to Article 14.3 of the APC constitution.
