Anti-gaft War: Army, Air Forces pledge to support EFCC

The Commander, 3 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Kano, Brigadier-General Bamidele Alli Alabi on Tuesday (October 20, 2020) commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for leading the fight against corruption in Nigeria.

He made the remarks when the Zonal Head of the Kano Office of the Commission, Deputy Chief Detective Superintendent Sanusi Aliyu Mohammed paid him a courtesy visit.

Gen. Alabi assured the commission of the Brigade’s cooperation in the areas of security and intelligence sharing.

“I will like to use this opportunity to commend your agency for leading the fight against corruption which has bedeviled our country, and a cardinal objective of the current administration; you are at the forefront of this fight,” he said.

He added that the Commission can always consider the Brigade as its home.

“I want to assure that as a sister agency, the Brigade is your home. And in terms of security, EFCC can be assured of our cooperation.

“The Brigade facilities are at the Commission’s disposal. We have sport activities, we have gym, we have Officers’ Mess and EFCC is always welcome to participate and use it as a member,” he said.

Mohammed, in his remarks, disclosed that the purpose of his visit was to cement the existing relationship between the two agencies.

In a similar visit to the Commander of the Nigerian Air Force Base, Air Commodore M.A Isah, the Zonal Head assured the Nigerian Air Force of the Commission’s readiness for support and collaboration in achieving its objectives.

“The purpose of our visit is to get acquainted with one another, seek support and collaboration of the Nigerian Air Force.

“It is also aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between EFCC and the Nigerian Air Force,” Mohammed said.

Commodore Isah, in his response, assured the Commission of the Nigerian Air force’s readiness to “assist the Commission whenever the need arises.”
