Court sentences Prince Oyinlola to jail in Osun

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun State Command, has secured the conviction of Prince Oyinlola Adekunle.

The conviction was predicated on alleged conspiracy preferred against him in Charge Number: FHC/OS/42C/2012: FRN v PRINCE OYINLOLA ADEKUNLE.

This was contained in a press release by the Command PRO, Mr Adigun Daniel, on Monday.

The Federal High Court presided by Justice Peter Lifu in the above-mentioned case convicted and sentenced the defendant to imprisonment without the option of fine on the counts of conspiracy between the D
defendant and three others at large.

They had conspired to defraud Mr Solagbade and other unsuspecting members of the public of the sum of #9,820,000 under the false pretence of registering them as patent right holders of Comandclem Nigeria Limited contrary to Section 1(1)(a) and punishable under Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and stealing of the aforesaid sum.

The prison terms for the counts are: one- year imprisonment without the option of fine for Count 1, two-year imprisonment without the option of fine for the second count while one-year imprisonment was for the third count.

The prison terms were to run concurrently while the court also ordered the auction of the vehicle registration number BDG 575 AG to be supervised by the court and the proceeds of the sale to be paid to the victim.

While reacting to the court judgement, the state Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Abdulkadir Sulu admonished that acts of fraud and scam should be shunned by Nigerians, stressing that only righteousness, sincerity and honesty promote a nation.

He advised citizens to be loyal in their relationship, business and any other act that promotes development.
