All Saints Church honours NUJ-FCT Chair Grace Ike with 2026 Humanitarian Award

All Saints Catholic Church erupted in applause as NUJ-FCT Council Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, received the 2026 Humanitarian and Service Award from the church’s Laity Council.

The Outstanding Achievement Award was presented on the church premises Sunday.

Comrade Ike received the honour in spirit. She dedicated it to God and every NUJ-FCT member.

“I’m grateful to God for the opportunity to serve,” she said.

She thanked organisers for “fishing her out” despite her distance and said she does not take the recognition lightly.

“It’s not just an award, it’s an invitation to do more,” Ike said.

“I pledge to continue serving humanity and advancing the cause of journalism with humility and dedication, through the help of God.”

The award adds to a growing list of recognitions for Ike’s professional excellence and humanitarian work.

NUJ-FCT Council Auditor, Comrade Rosemary Ukoko-Tega, received the award on her behalf.
