Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has pledged the state government’s willingness to work closely with Emadeb Oil as the company expands its exploration and production activities in the state.
The governor gave the assurance when the company’s management team visited him at the Government House in Uyo on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

He welcomed the company’s decision to engage directly with the government and commended its confidence in Akwa Ibom as a stable and attractive environment for investment.
Governor Eno praised Emadeb Oil for the steady progress it had made since acquiring its licence in 2020.
He described the company’s sustained investments as evidence of the strength of Nigeria’s indigenous oil and gas firms.
He stated that the administration was open to exploring areas of collaboration through the Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation.
He also welcomed the company’s interest in the Ibom Deep Seaport, which he said offered significant natural advantages and opportunities for gradual expansion.
The governor encouraged Emadeb Oil to expand its contribution to local content by giving qualified residents of Akwa Ibom priority in employment, skills training, and technical development.
He directed the Commissioner for Digital Economy to give the company access to the state’s digital talent database so that recruitment could be carried out in a transparent and merit-based manner.
He also commended the company’s willingness to support educational initiatives in its host communities and promised government cooperation to ensure that such plans aligned with existing state programmes.
Managing Director of Emadeb Oil, Mr Adebowale Olujimi, thanked the Governor for the warm reception.
He praised the administration for maintaining a peaceful business climate and explained that the company had remained resilient since 2020.
Olujimi highlighted its major investments and drilling activities and noted its commitment to responsible operations despite global economic pressures.
He reaffirmed the company’s readiness to partner the state government, support local employment, and explore broader collaborations, including opportunities linked to the Ibom Deep Seaport.
