Umo Eno, Akwa Ibom State governor has sacked the entire cabinet members he inherited from his immediate past predecessor and godfather, Udom Emmanuel
Eno said it was necessary to open a new vista in governance as a new season had just begun.
Governor Eno, however, gave the inherited cabinet members a pass mark at the weekend’s valedictory State Executive Council (SEC) meeting at the Exco Chambers of the Government House, Uyo, the state capital.
He wished them well in their future endeavours.
Read what he said to rationalise his action: “For me, if you were to be changed based on non-performance, I think none of the commissioners would go, because all of you have delivered, and that’s why the ARISE Agenda has succeeded.
“But we must come to the end of a season, start another season and keep moving,” the governor stressed, and urged the outgone SEC members to continue to be good ambassadors of the state and government, even outside the administration.
Recall that former Governor Udom Emmanuel had underscored the need for his cabinet members to stay behind to stabilise the new administration under his successor, Governor Eno qho stepped in the saddle on May 29, 2023.
