Tuesday just became D-Day at the National Assembly.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has pulled the emergency brake. The red chamber is reconvening Tuesday for a tense special session.
The trigger: Adams Oshiomhole’s live TV claim that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension might be built on forged signatures.

—“Signatures without approval?”—
The storm exploded when Oshiomhole, ex-Edo governor, told a live audience that some senators’ signatures may have been slapped on the Ethics Committee report that nailed Kogi Central Senator Natasha — without their consent.
He later backtracked. “I never accused anyone of forgery,” he insisted. “Reports of my interview are a complete misrepresentation.”
Too late. Damage done. Senators are reportedly furious. Public trust is wobbling. So Akpabio summoned everyone back.
Tuesday’s plenary will tackle it head-on: defend the Senate’s process, answer Oshiomhole, and decide if the March 2025 suspension of Natasha still stands.
—Senate fires back: “Unfounded”—
Senate spokesperson Yemi Adaramodu isn’t buying it. He dismissed the forgery talk as “serious but unfounded.” No senator, he said, has formally complained about a fake signature.
“Senate decisions are taken openly during plenary,” Adaramodu stressed. “Disciplinary matters are only resolved after full debate by lawmakers.”
Oshiomhole tried to douse the fire. He claimed he was just relaying a colleague’s concern: attendance sheets from a committee sitting showed up on the final report.
“The Natasha matter was concluded. I regret if my comments embarrassed any senator or the 10th Senate,” he said.

Then Senator Ireti Kingibe stepped in and the questions got louder.
Kingibe told TV viewers she never saw the actual committee report that suspended Natasha. She was at a tax reform retreat when it was adopted. She only attended an earlier Ethics Committee session, signed the register, and left.
She says she complained to Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and others about being shut out of the document.
Her dosclosure now feeds the biggest question: Did every committee member actually review the report before Natasha got 6 months suspension, no pay, sealed office, and a ban from NASS complex?

Recall: Natasha was suspended March 2025 for “gross misconduct and unruly behaviour” after a heated clash with Akpabio. She called it victimisation. The Senate called it rule-breaking.
Now with Akpabio vs Oshiomhole, signatures vs attendance sheets, and Kingibe’s missing report, the Senate must prove one thing Tuesday: Was justice done, or was process short-circuited?
