“We are honoured to have Mr. Akpabio as the special guest of honour, while Mr. Abbas will attend as the guest of honour.

“The chairmanship of the event will be held by Mr. Nweke, who was the Enugu State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the last elections.

“Notably, Mr. Nweke had Mr. Ibietan as his special assistant on media during his ministerial term.

“Other personalities expected at the event include Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo (retd), the immediate past Chief of Naval Staff; Hadiza Bala Usman, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination; Waziri Adio, founder of Agora Policy Think Tank and former Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI); Idayat Hassan, Executive Director of the Centre for Democracy and Development; Dapo Olorunyomi, Chief Executive Officer of Premium Times Group; Prof Abiodun Adeniyi, Deputy Dean of the School of Postgraduate School at Baze University; and Dr. Hussaini Abdu, Executive Director of CARE International.

“The book, ‘Cyber Politics,’ published by Premium Times Books, the publishing arm of Premium Times Group, delves into the influence of social media communication on voting behavior and other critical aspects of the Nigerian election.

“It explores five electoral totems: voting behavior, social and demographic correlations, comparative social media network effectiveness, the motivation of social media influencers, and stimulus-response that can enhance the quality of electoral democracy.

“Presenting the book to the public will be Umar Danbatta, a professor and the executive vice chairman and chief executive officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission.

“The review of the 460-page book, spanning 12 chapters, will be conducted by Azubuike Ishiekwene, a renowned journalist, writer, and editor-in-chief of Leadership Newspaper.

“The event will also host a compelling panel discussion on the intersection of politics and social technology, analyzing their impact on the last two general elections in Nigeria and exploring the potential implications of cyber politics in future elections.

“For those eager to explore this thought-provoking work, “Cyber Politics” has been available in both hardback and softback versions in bookstores across the country since June 12, 2023.

“Additionally, electronic copies can be purchased from various online platforms, including Amazon,” a statement by the organisers of the event said.
