Akeredolu’s Wife Isolated in Government House, Chief Medical Director Tests Positive

The wife of the Ondo State Governor, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has tested positive for the coronavirus disease. This has been a challenging week for the government and people of Ondo State as the Coronavirus pandemic continues to ravage the State.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Wahab Adegbenro, slumped and died this morning following Coronavirus complications. Adegbenro, according to reliable sources, was said to have been discreetly treating some of his COVID-19-positive friends at his clinic without following NCDC protocols. One of such friends was rushed to the General Hospital in Ondo town last week when his condition worsened.

Dr Adegbenro slumped and died this morning as he was being received at the Casualty (A and E) Ward of the University Teaching Hospital, Akure.

Moments later, news emerged that the First Lady, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, and the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Ondo State University of Medical Sciences, UNIMED, have tested positive.

The CMD has been admitted into the Isolation Centre in Akure.
