The Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has suspended actress Halima Abubakar indefinitely in the aftermath of an extensive investigation over her involvement in circulating slanderous information.
The AGN claimed in a statement that their investigation showed that Halima Abubakar was the person “behind all the slandering [sic] information of our members, associates and patrons” that were posted online.
The Guild also claimed that she was especially responsible for “news of extramarital affairs linked with highly placed individuals in society.”
She will face a disciplinary panel to determine her culpability and full punishment, the guild said, adding that she was not permitted to film or participate in any movies during the period.
