There was celebration galore in Itaakun community, Irewole local government area of Osun state as Governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke presented staff of office to the new Sooko of Itaakun community.
The official coronation of the monarch was attended by government officials, politicians, traditional monarchs, market men and women, students, and religious leaders.
Speaking, the newly installed Sooko of Itaakun Community, Oba Abdulmaroof Adesoji Alade Fabowale, promised to do everything within his reach to better the lives of the people of the ancient town and ensure rapid development in the community.
The monarch promised to be accessible, receptive, and responsive to the yearnings of his people.
Appreciating the Governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke for the passion he has for the development of the Itaakun and all other communities in the state said the Governor has within the space of hundred days brought unprecedented development to the state.
The newly coronated monarch who was highly elated equally appreciated the state Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi who represented the governor at the well attended and colourful ceremony as well as the Akire of Ikire land, Oba Olatunde Falabi.
The new Sooko, however, pledged to champion all efforts that would enhance peaceful co-existence with other royal fathers within the state to justify the mandate and confidence reposed in him by the state government.
Oba Fabowale also assured that, during his time, the ancient community would begin to witness upward swing.
While describing the event as “symbolic testament and a new beginning,” the Monarch said, he would espouse development of the entire Itaakun community.
Oba Fabowale, who is a distinguished technocrat and entrepreneur, added that he will use his experience and connection to turn around the fortune of the community.
He used the medium to appreciate the residents of the community from far and near who have contributed to the success of his coronation while admonishing them not to relent in demonstrating their unalloyed supports to him saying he cannot do it alone.
