● Declares “God has already decided 2027 president’
Pastor Enoch Adeboye pushed back on claims that the Redeemed Christian Church of God backs the APC, telling worshippers Saturday the church “remains independent” and that Nigeria’s 2027 president “has already been decided by God.”
Speaking at a workers’ meeting on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the RCCG General Overseer addressed viral social media posts linking the church to the ruling party.
“I have never wanted to be the father of all Christians in Nigeria,” Adeboye said, responding to activist Omoyele Sowore’s recent comments.
He said: “The CAN President is the father leader of Christians in Nigeria. I’m satisfied with being the father of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.”
On 2027 and politics
Adeboye urged Nigerians not to be anxious as political activities intensify.
“The next president has already been decided by God who owns the universe,” he said. “It is not something we can determine by human effort alone. The will of God will be done.”

He clarified: “I never said we should not be involved in politics, but we must understand that God has the final say in the affairs of men.”
Protests and politicians
Adeboye said RCCG has spoken consistently on national issues, including economic hardship. If the Christian Association of Nigeria called for a peaceful protest, he would join.
“I have protested before during the Goodluck Jonathan administration,” he noted.
Politicians are welcome at Redemption City, he added, but they won’t be allowed to speak or campaign from the altar.
