The newly appointed Adamawa Commissioner for Works, Mr Muhammed Suleiman, has assumed office, pledging commitment to delivering on his mandate.
Suleiman made the pledge on Wednesday in Yola while speaking with newsmen shortly after his swearing-in by Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri.
He expressed appreciation to the governor for finding him worthy of the appointment.
The commissioner said his return to the ministry was emotional, as he began his career there and rose to permanent secretary.
“It feels good to return and continue contributing to the development of the ministry, which I consider home,” he said.
Suleiman said his experience working with the Fintiri-led administration had given him a clear understanding of the government’s vision and development strides.

He commended the administration’s infrastructural achievements, describing them as unprecedented within a short period.
The commissioner said he was honoured to be part of the team driving the state’s development and actualising the governor’s vision.
He added that his background as a technocrat and registered engineer positioned him to deliver on the assignment.
He called on staff of the ministry and the media to support him in achieving set objectives.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Dogara Musa, described the appointment as well-deserved and commended the governor for the decision.
Musa noted that Suleiman was not new to the ministry, having contributed greatly to infrastructural development in the state, and assured him of staff cooperation for effective service delivery.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Fintiri had earlier sworn in three commissioners and a member of the State Independent Electoral Commission.
