Abia-North: Orji Kalu opens early lead in Umunneochi, Arochukwu, Bende, wins own polling unit

Abia-North Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has begun his re-election bid on a winning streak in Umunneochi Local Government Area of the zone in Saturday’s general elections.

Kalu, the Senate Chief Whip, according to early results emanating from different polling units in the Senatorial zone, has begun an early lead. According to verified result sheets signed by INEC officials, the Senate Chief Whip has so far recorded winning at Umunneochi, Bende, Isuikwuato Local Government Areas.

Beginning with his Igbere Polling Unit at Onuibina, Onuibina Primary School where he cast his vote early this morning, Kalu recorded a landslide victory winning with a total of 86 votes against candidates of the Labour Party (LP) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who got 1 and 2 votes respectively.

At polling Unit 2, Arochukwu community school, Amoba Kalu of the APC, got 25 votes while LP and PDP each received 11 and 7 votes.

Early results at Obinolu/Obiagu Unit in Umunneochi Kalu won with 55 votes while LP and PDP each got 7 and 9 votes.

Results at Polling Unit 003 Ward 4 Isuamawu in Isuikwuato saw Kalu secure victory with 54 votes cast against PDP and LP’s zone 29 and 20 votes.
