Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara has expressed sadness over the death of a former Deputy Governor of the state, Elder Peter Kisira.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Saturday, in Ilorin.
Kisira died in the early hours of Saturday at the age of 74.
The statement said that the deceased would be remembered for his life of commendable public service and dedication to good causes.
“On behalf of the people and government of the state, Governor AbdulRazaq sends his heartfelt condolences to the people of Baruten and the family of Elder Kisira,” it said.
The governor urged them to take solace in the ‘fine legacies’ left behind by the deceased as a public servant and bureaucrat who rose to the rank of Permanent Secretary in the state’s civil service.
He prayed God to receive the soul of the former deputy governor and look after the family that he left behind.
