NKJV, Psalms 50:5
“Gather My saints together to Me, those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”
A covenant is a spiritual contract that involves more than one party. One important feature of a covenant is that it cannot be breached and that makes a huge difference between it and promise. A covenant is an agreement or contract between two or more parties to put their resources together and pursue a common goal. A covenant is not forced or made reluctantly. It is made consciously and decisively. If you will make covenant with God this year, to serve and obey Him, He will release His resources for the pursuit of your goals. God will take interest in your works and visions and support your dreams. However, obedience is the key that makes covenants work.
What happened to Abraham in Genesis 12:1 was a promise until God tested His Love for Him in Genesis 22:1-18. In every Covenant with God, obedience is key just as we have seen in the life of Abraham.
Another Case study was Isaac. Isaac obeyed God and his obedience was an indication that he was ready to enter into a covenant with God.
Isaac being the son of Abraham knew he couldn’t inherit the relationship of His father with God, hence, he built and developed His own relationship with God.
You must choose to obey God when you get to that point where the Will of God is totally against your convenience. Your obedience will facilitate the fulfillment of God’s side of the covenant.
There is an assurance that God’s Words are Yea and Amen and He can never fail on His Words. Make up your mind to obey God and enjoy the proceeds of Obedience this year. Deuteronomy 28:1-14
