South-South Support Movement for Governor Yahaya Bello to President Yahaya Bello (GYB2PYB) has spoken forcefully in support of his presidential aspiration in 2023.
Members of the group converged on Benin on Saturday, August 7, 2021 to validate their support for the Kogi State Governor in his bid to become president in 2023.
Speaking on behalf of the presidential hopeful at the gathering, Kogi State Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon. Ahmed Mohammed, described Governor Yahaya Bello as the first young Executive Governor in Nigeria, to provide the vehicle for youth and women participation in politics in Nigeria.
He said he was not surprised at the massive support Governor Bello kept receiving everyday from youth and women of Nigeria.
He noted that “Governor Yahaya Bello is the only man if given the opportunity who will voice the opinions of Nigerians, and play a meaningful role in political decision making.
“Gov Bello is a true democrat, a nation builder, a divinely-inspired and goal-oriented leader with integrity that has the solutions to Nigeria’s problems.
“One of the major challenges bedeviling our nation today is insecurity; from the north to the South, to the west and East. Kogi State is a state that ie bordered by over ten states from South to West and East, but the man has been able to effectively manage security, making it topmost priority and giving it due attention.”
He added: “Kogi State is one of the safest states in Nigeria today. Governor Yahaya Bello, our leader has performed excellently in his home – Kogi State with massive infrastructure in all parts, in the health sector, agriculture and many more.
“It is necessary we highlight some of these scorecards, because the journey ahead requires a man who you can trust and who will be accountable to us all as a people.”
The convener of the South- South Support Movement for GYB2PYB, Prince Nwala Charles, said Nigerians wanted a future “where as youth we can be globally recognised entrepreneurs, business moguls, successful politicians contributing to our immediate community.”
According to him, “Governor Bello did it in Kogi State; he will do it even better as president and we are assuring him of a massive support and bloc votes when the time comes.”
He urged all stakeholders to expand networks to the villages, polling units, wards, local government areas and preach the gospel of a new Nigeria under the youthful Governor Bello as president.
