Atiku, who made the allegation against the backdrop of the sexual harassment allegation levelled against Akpabio by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, said that Akpabio had a history of abusing women.

Atiku, who stated these in an interview with Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie on the programme “Untold Stories”, also said that Akpabio was corrupt as a governor.

He said that he was not sure if he would run or not for the office of president.

He, however, did not dismiss the possibility of running again in the 2027 election.

This is coming after his recent announcement of the formation of a coalition aimed at challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in the 2027 election.

Atiku said: “I don’t know because there has to be, first of all, a viable platform, more than any other time in the political history of this country, particularly since the return of democracy.”

He said; “In 2014, we had a similar merger with several candidates contesting. We all ran for president, and one emerged, and we all supported him.”

Commenting on the speed with which the National Assembly approved the State of Emergency on Rivers State declared by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Atiku said he was not in any way surprised owing to corruption.

“No, the leadership is corrupt, and I have no apologies for saying that. They could do anything. The Senate President is known for such behaviour, even as a governor,” be stated.
