A former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and former Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has caved in under pressure by associates and well wishers to shift his declaration to next week.
His campaign organisation, “Restructure The Change 2023”, in another statement released on the heels of the earlier invitation circulated Friday morning, announced that the event scheduled for Friday (April 29, 2022) in Abuja, had been postponed.
A press statement signed by Oshiomhole’s media aide, Victor Oshioke, on behalf of the Campaign Organisation, said that: “The proposed formal declaration of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for the office of President, Federal Republic of Nigeria under (on)the platform of APC which was advertised to hold today, April 29th 2022 at the Cyprian Ekwensi Center for Arts and Culture Abuja is hereby postponed.
“The new date for the event will be communicated appropriately.
“We are deeply sorry for the inconveniences this unavoidable postponement may have caused numerous supporters of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole across the country.”
THE CONCLAVE reports that the event would now hold next week.
Sources close to the development said that Oshiomhole caused the declaration to be postponed to next week due to the deluge of protests by his political associates countrywide and loyalists, especially from Edo State who said the notice was sudden and that they would want to attend the political event both to identify with and give him consequential support.
