A former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, on Wednesday night launched into discussions with a leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The meeting came on the heels of Peter Obi’s formal resignation from the PDP.
Obi was in discussion with the leaders of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, with a view to joining the party.
Reports said that this was specifically coming barely a few hours after Obi dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday.
Obi, a leading aspirant in the 2023 presidential election said his decision to quit the PDP was first conveyed to the Chairman of Aguta Ward 2, Anambra LGA, in Anambra State, last Friday, May 20, 2022.
His official resignation from PDP was however contained in a letter addressed to the Party’s National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.
Politics Digest, a publication of PRNigeria stated that credible sources hinted that the former Anambra Governor had been penciled down to join Kwankwaso in custodying the presidential ticket of thd new parrty.
However, it is however unclear who will be the presidential candidate and vice-presidential candidate between Obi and Kwankwaso if the ongoing meeting is fruitful.
