▪︎ State Chapter crisis too ahead of guber poll
As the preparations for the 2023 Presidential election hot up, the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Federal Lawmakers are meeting in Osogbo, the State Capital on Sunday over the party’s voice of candidate in the election
It was gathered that the meeting expected to be a gathering of members from the 4th Assembly to date was coming ahead of the one for PDP South West Zone of the party holding soon.

Presidential race are former Vice-president Abubakar Atiku, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambwal, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim and Senator Bukola Saraki respectively.
It was gathered that Ihe meeting became necessary for the State to prepare ground for the zonal one holding in the State for the South West zone to speak with one voice.
Those being expected at the meeting include: Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, Bamidele Salam, Bimbo Ajilesoro, John Fasogbon, Gbenga Onigbogi, Debo Ayinde and a host of others.
Speaking on the development, the member respecting Obokun/oriade Federal Constituency of Osun state, Hon. Busayo Ouwole Oke confirmed it, saying that the Osun meeting was to prepare the ground for the general meeting of the South West zone of the Party holding in Osogbo on Sunday.
Hon Wole Oke, who is also the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts said that the former and present PDP lawmakers at the National Assembly considered it very imperative to intervene, discuss and review the situation of things within the party, especially on the choice of the Party’s presidential candidate and the Party’s governorship candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
According Hon Oke, “we consider it imperative to come together and do a critical review of the situation of things in the party, especially on the gubernatorial election slated for July this year. We can’t open our eyes and be watching the situation going on like this within the party
“We must intervene for peace to reign in the party, so that we can record victory without any rancour in the party at the poll, the People of Osun state are looking up to our Party, the PDP for a change; mind you, we cannot provide for this under a divided house; so, we are moving very fast to put our house in order to secure the state at the poll.
“To us what God cannot do does not exist; that’s why we are putting our heads together to end the crisis now for our good. I am very optimistic that the crisis will be resolved amicably.”
